Sven driving the bus, taking us on an adventure!
Hey all, the craziness has begun and we are in the middle of it all, right where we want to be.... That means that our schools that we lead have begun. I (Sven) am leading the Frontline Discipleship Training School (FLDTS), we like getting off the beaten track to go to, what I like to call, the forgotten places, they are sometimes closer than you think. Andrea is leading the Art Evangelists School (AES), they use visual art to communicate the ultimate message of hope, the message of Christ. We are both organising the schools, covering the staff who help us run the schools and of course our main job which is to care for the students who have made the trip over.
Both of our schools are fully accredited by the educational board and are recognised as proper qualifications, I run a certificate 3 in discipleship, Andrea runs a certificate 4 in art evangelism. This is cool as it is how our students can get student visas and can even get degree's in YWAM.
We have just finished the third week of lectures, the FLDTS just finished an intense week, we looked at sin, true repentance and forgiveness and dealt with areas in our own lives so that we can help others to do the same thing. Like I said it is an intense week, but ultimately a week of freedom. We have also done a few day trips, gotten used to hiking as a group and have been having good work out times in the morning. A few of the students have been battling to feel their legs after some days, we could end up trekking in the valleys of a place like Nepal for outreach, so getting everyone fit is important and physical fitness does lead to mental toughness.
The AES is progressing well, they are a small but mighty school. They just had lectures on the leadership of the Holy Spirit in the design process, which is learning to be creative with the Creator God, the most creative being in existence. They are semi-combined with the School Of Evangelism (SOE) as they are similar and both had smaller student numbers. They are getting along well and go into the city to help out and share the message of Hope with people there, often using public art as a way to communicate the love of God to people.
Things are busy but we are loving life, this is what we pray for and prepare for. Both of our students groups are mature and have a learning, teachable attitude, I like it when that happens.
Please pray for us as it is scary being responsible for people's growth and lives, I am actually a legal guardian for one of my students as she is 17. We do need wisdom and want to be good representations of authority.
God bless, love you all.
